Jasmina: There is a lot. She is German like me and she was the first German worldwide star. Then she was very beautiful. I like her face and bone structure. When I was young, I was very impressed by her, especially to see what Hollywood made out of her. Her boldness and confidence also left a lasting impact on me. The funny thing is she wasn't a good actress in my opinion, but she always looked amazing in her movies. She also said that she made movies just for money and looking good.
Monika: What are your favorite movies starring Marlene Dietrich, and what makes them stand out to you?
Jasmina: "Devil is a Woman," "Stage Fright," "The Blue Angel," "Desire"... I admire these films because they really highlight her unique ability to captivate the audience with her presence, even if the roles weren't always the most complex.
Monika: Marlene Dietrich once said, "I dress for myself. Not for the image, not for the public, not for the fashion, not for men." What are your thoughts on this approach to fashion?
Jasmina: It's like me. I also do it just for myself, in my opinion. But of course, I enjoy when people like my looks. Ultimately, it’s about feeling confident and comfortable in what you wear, regardless of others' opinions.
Monika: Which specific dresses or stage outfits of Marlene Dietrich do you cherish the most?
Jasmina: Of course, the glamorous Hollywood dresses in her movies, and the sparkly dress she wore during her stage shows in the 60s, as well as the swan cape. These pieces showcased her elegance and unique style that left a lasting impression on the fashion world.
Monika: She once said, "Darling, the legs aren't so beautiful, I just know what to do with them." Do you agree with this statement?
Jasmina: I think that's a good answer, which we can apply to all parts of our bodies. It's not always about perfection, but about how we present ourselves with confidence and grace.
Monika: She was not only a fashion icon but also a screen legend whose influence later stars would follow. Is there any actress these days who could be compared to Marlene Dietrich?
Jasmina: No, I would say that the movie stars of today are different. The old movie stars are unique; it was a very special time. But I would love to see Gwen Stefani playing her in a movie. I don't know why, but for me, she has the most Marlene-like face. She has that mix of glamour and strength that Dietrich embodied so well.
